Jah Wanks born as Dacosta Mitchell in the beautiful town of Port Antonio on the golden island of Jamaica! He was groomed by the acknowledgement of the community in which he grew as a young singer . Songs from the 1960's such as : "Ho mas Charlie have one bulldog chain you have to chain him…!'', Late 60's songs like: Cecelia, (Desmond Decker's "Poor Me Israelite") and (Toots Hibert's "5446 - That's My Number!"). These are songs, Jah Wanks, a community household name would sing and play on his pan guitar. Performing for his school and community concerts! By the early 70's this singer grew with big spiritual desire to preach, teach and write musical prescriptions as the medicine from Dr. Jah Wanks. From strong inspiration in 1978 his first recording was done at one of Jamaica's most foundational recording studios, Channel One. Soon after came "Dance Hall Style", "Jillion" and "Truths In The Dark". In September 1984 then came "Jah Wanks On The Version", "New Garden" and "Satta" were recorded at the Music Mountain recording studio in Kingston. Jah Wanks performed many concerts around the island with some of reggae music's brightest stars like Winston Rodney(The Burning Spear), Brigadier Jerry, Johnny Osborne, Jr. Reid, Eddie Fitzroy, Hugo Barrington, Hugh Griffith and many, many more! There is over 28 new tracks in the soon to come envelope for your listening and entertainment pleasure from Jah Wanks! Hey People!!! Jah Wanks has finally finished the new album.
